Bali Meet Night

Another Side of Hendrick's Lands in Bali with an Unusual Gin Experience

Another Side of Hendrick's Lands in Bali with an Unusual Gin Experience

There are launches, and then there are Hendrick's launches.

Known for turning the wonderfully peculiar into an art form, Hendrick's Gin chose Bali as the stage for the Indonesian debut of Another Hendrick's—its first permanent new expression in nearly a decade. And naturally, it wasn't introduced with an ordinary cocktail party. Instead, curious guests were invited into "Anotherland," an immersive evening where botanical cocktails, thoughtful dining, and a touch of eccentricity came together at Santanera in Canggu.

Rather than replacing the iconic Hendrick's Original, Another Hendrick's expands the story. Built upon the brand's signature rose and cucumber foundation, the new expression introduces delicate orange blossom alongside silky cacao, creating a gin that's familiar enough to feel like Hendrick's, yet different enough to spark curiosity from the very first sip. It's an evolution designed for drinkers who appreciate discovering unexpected layers inside something they already love.

The flavour itself is the result of years of experimentation by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie, who set herself the unlikely challenge of making cacao work harmoniously in gin. The result is remarkably balanced: bright citrus florals meet velvety richness without overpowering Hendrick's unmistakable character. It's unconventional, yes—but that's exactly the point.

Bali became the perfect setting for this new chapter. Before Another Hendrick's makes its way across Indonesia, invited guests gathered at Santanera for an intimate discovery experience led by Southeast Asia Brand Ambassador Alexis Sang. Through guided tastings of both the Original and Another Hendrick's, guests explored how one brand can reveal two entirely different personalities while staying unmistakably Hendrick's.

The evening flowed naturally into a thoughtfully curated gin-pairing dinner by Santanera's Chef and Co-Founder Andrés Becerra, where every course echoed the spirit's playful balance of elegance and surprise. Rather than treating cocktails as an afterthought, the menu celebrated the conversation between food and gin, proving that some of the best flavour discoveries happen when expectations are gently challenged.

For those who missed the launch, Hendrick's extended the experience beyond the guest list. Following the celebration, visitors at Santanera were invited to sample complimentary Sgroppino sorbet alongside a Hendrick's cocktail tasting, offering more curious drinkers the chance to discover what makes this new expression so intriguingly different.

With Another Hendrick's, the Scottish gin house reminds us that curiosity isn't just an attitude—it's something you can taste. Between fragrant orange blossom, velvety cacao, and the unmistakable rose-and-cucumber signature that made Hendrick's a global icon, this newest addition feels less like a reinvention and more like discovering a hidden room inside a familiar house.

And if Bali is any indication, that room is well worth stepping into.
