SugarSand Meets TAKK for a One-Night Culinary Collaboration in Seminyak
Two kitchens, two chefs and one oceanfront table — SugarSand at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is bringing TAKK into the mix for an exclusive four-hand dinner this September.
On Thursday, 24 September 2026, SugarSand’s Chef de Cuisine Ega will join forces with Chef Martin, Chef Owner of Petitenget’s TAKK, for a one-night-only dining experience overlooking Seminyak’s iconic sunset and the sea.
The collaboration comes as part of SugarSand’s recently launched Borderless Cuisine concept, which explores seasonal local produce through international culinary techniques. Curated by Chef Ega, the concept draws inspiration from Mediterranean, Italian, Asian and other global traditions, while keeping sustainability and local ingredients at its core.
For the occasion, Chef Martin brings a distinctly different culinary perspective. The chef, whose experience includes time at Michelin-starred establishments and culinary studies across Melbourne, Switzerland, Sweden and Bali, combines Scandinavian simplicity and classical French techniques with a disciplined approach to cooking.
Together, the two Indonesian chefs will serve a curated 13-course coastal-inspired menu, bringing together global culinary influences, local ingredients and the two kitchens’ individual signatures. Expect dishes that move effortlessly between familiar comfort and more unexpected combinations, including Chef Martin’s Savory French Toast with fresh mulberry jam, silky otoro, melted lardo and a touch of wasabi.
From Chef Ega comes an 18-Hour Short Ribs On Bones, paired with Indonesian andaliman pepper jus, peperomia, wild kemangi and kluwek grilled pilaf rice — a dish that puts a distinctly local spin on the evening’s borderless approach.
Set against SugarSand’s beachfront setting, the dinner is less about keeping the two culinary identities separate and more about seeing what happens when they meet. With the energy of Seminyak, the ocean in the background and two chefs bringing their own international influences to the table, it makes for a suitably one-night-only kind of plan.
