Still only in his early twenties, Joey Alexander has long moved beyond the “child prodigy” label. The multi-Grammy nominee has become one of the defining names in modern jazz, praised by legends like Herbie Hancock and celebrated globally through appearances on NPR’s Tiny Desk and CBS’s 60 Minutes. But this Bali return feels different. Rather than a nostalgic homecoming, this upcoming performance marks a fuller, more evolved chapter of Joey’s artistic journey — one shaped by years immersed in New York’s jazz scene and refined through critically acclaimed releases like Origin and Continuance.
